Today was the first ‘pause’ in Bank of England interest rises, after 14 consecutive rises since December 2021.

Mortgage prices have already been declining since the middle of the summer and lenders including Natwest, TSB and Nationwide announced cuts this week while several providers offered new five-year fixed rates below 5%.

Predictions are that there will be one further interest rise before March next year to 5.5% Bank of England rate. Inflation dipped on Wednesday to 6.7% is also a great sign.

The property market is still active, we are selling. Don't get me wrong it is slower and a tougher market. But personally I enjoy the challenge and enjoying being back to a more ‘normal’ market. This is where our experience and skills come into play. The cost of living crisis is real but there is always going to be first time buyers wanting to get on the property ladder, families needing more space, retired couples downsizing to enjoy there retirement and unfortunately there will also always be deceased estates and relationship break downs.
